PRESS CONFERENCE AT THE VISIT OF HEADS OF DELEGATIONS - CHEFS DE MISSION
A press conference was held in Hotel Habakuk, where we presented details of the largest multi-disciplinary sports festival in Maribor, which will take place between July 23 and 29. In addition, we focused on the goals and course of a two-day seminar for the leaders of national teams, called Chefs de Mission. At the conference, we hosted various important personalities and together we committed to organize a high-quality and unforgettable sports festival for young European athletes and fans.
Today, April 20, 2023, a press conference was held at the Habakuk hotel during the visit of the heads of national teams/delegations, where we presented the details of the largest multi-disciplinary sports festival in Maribor, which will take place between July 23 and 29. We also dedicated a few words to the goals and course of the two-day Chefs de Mission seminar.
The Chef de Mission is the head of the national team who is responsible for leading the delegation at the sports games. The seminar for national team leaders is a test event before the games, where delegation leaders get to know the city of Maribor, the organizing committee, obtain key information and assess the organization’s readiness for the implementation of the European Youth Olympic Festival.
At the conference, we had the honor of hosting the Mayor of the Municipality of Maribor and the President of OFEM 2023 Maribor Aleksander Saša Arsenovič, the Director of OFEM 2023 Maribor Nataša Ritonija, the Sports Director of the EOC (The European Olympic Committees) Petar Brüll, the President of the EYOF Commission of the European Olympic Committee Líney Rut Halldórsdóttir, the president of the OFEM 2023 coordination commission at the EOC (The European Olympic Committees) Gura Lium and the coordinator of the EYOF (European Young Olympic Ambassadors) Nataša Janković.
Together, we committed to holding a high-quality and unforgettable sports festival for European young athletes and fans and proved that we are ready for major sports events in Maribor.
